Why ACCS
School/Family/Church Partnership

ACCS, like today’s modern Christian School, is in a unique position of being in partnership with both Christian Families and local Christian Churches. This partnership is a great opportunity to provide Christ centered education with support from families and churches. Educating has been compared to going down a well for a rescue. If an educator is going down the well then who is holding the rope? In this partnership the churches and families are holding the rope of course. What a wonderful privilege to be part of this partnership.
Integration of Faith and Learning
The book of 1st Corinthians tells that we need to bring Glory to God whether we are eating or drinking or whatever we do. This nice simple image of integrating our faith in Christ into everything we do including the small daily routine tasks. ACCS strives to integrate the Christian faith into all aspects of learning whether it is math, science, lanuages or physical education etc.
Interdenominational
The families and students of ACCS represent several Christian denominations. God’s family is a wide and varied body or believers. ACCS is an amazing and unique demonstration of Christ’s Body where many of God’s children from many denominations come together to educate the next generation.
Building Success for All Students
Each student is uniquely created by God with their special talents and interests. ACCS focuses on educating the entire student. Opportunities are constantly looked for that will give the varied student body to succeed in areas that focus on each student’s abilities and interests. Whether an area of interest is highly academic, sports related or perhaps related to fine arts, each student can succeed at ACCS with their God given talents.
Parent and Student Involvement
There are always opportunities for parents to be involved with their child’s education even if it is just helping with homework. ACCS gives parents a tremendous opportunity to be involved to a much higher degree.
ACCS is a parent run school. The elected Board of Directors is comprised of current parents, alumni parents and other Christian School supporters. Being a member of the Board is only one way to be involved in your child’s education. Below is a list of some of the areas where parents are currently involved.
- Board membership
- Committee membership (i.e. Program Committee or Finance Committee)
- Library
- Computer Lab and I.T. Support
- Audio/video
- Building Maintenance and Enhancement
- Lunch and Recess Supervision
Safe School
Is physical safety important? Of course, but ACCS provides a learning environment that also gives students the safety to explore God’s creation and their own talents and strengths. A great example of this safety is the open Christ Centered learning environment where a student can ask questions about Biblical Creation or the Theory of Evolution without fear.
